My name is Charly and I am a recent graduate from the University of Victoria's Recreation and Health Education program. I grew up on lake in a small town just north of Toronto, ON. It was there that I really established my love for recreation and spending time outdoors.

My winters as a child consisted of playing ice hockey from the time I got off the school bus until I was called in for dinner and then back out again until it was time for bed. Summers were spent swimming in the lake, creating tree forts and watching the embers of a bon fire late into the night. To say I was blessed to live and recreate in such a location as child would be an understatement, but to this day it is the one place that I can feel refreshed, even by just thinking about it.

Helping others find this same love of recreation, whether it be a special place or a particular activity or hobby, is the passion that drives my work in the field of recreation. After graduating from high school I moved across the country to Victoria, BC to study at UVIC and completed my degree in the Spring of 2015.

I currently live on Vancouver Island

with my husband and our  adventurous

one year old chocolate lab Benson.

When I am not leading kids

programs at our local rec centre

you can find me at the lake playing

fetch, hiking new trails or exploring

new creative pursuits with my

blogging and photography.
