Activity Volunteer

 

The Lodge at Broadmead

 

Assisted Activity Workers with the implementation of their art program for residents, as well as transporting residents to and from their room. Art classes varied in mediums from painting, sculpting, card making, etc. 

 

Veterans Health Centre

 

Assisted Activity Workers at the Veterans Health Centre with evening group health, recreational and social programs for eligible veterans who still live independently. Activities I assisted with included:

• Preparing and serving snacks

• Leading physical and mental health exercises

• Bus outings 

• Implementation of art classes

• Music and singing events

• Weekly bingo in the main activity room

 

Nigel House

 

Nigel House is a residential program for adults with disabilities that provides 24-hour personal care. I assisted Activity Workers on their weekly out trips to locations like the movies, the breakwater, etc. and with the transportation of residents to and from their rooms.
